An Erasmus+ KA220-VET project that trains a new generation of sustainability experts in the manufacturing sector, equipping them with the tools to drive real change in their companies and communities.
The European manufacturing industry faces a critical green skills gap. GREENFIT—Green and Resilient Future Industrial Training—is the Erasmus+ project designed to fill it.
Bringing together five partner organizations from Italy, Poland, Sweden, and Turkey, GREENFIT trains a new generation of sustainability experts through a research-based curriculum, a free multilingual e-learning platform, and hands-on training programs with manufacturing companies. Funded under the Erasmus+ KA220-VET program, the project runs from November 2025 to December 2027.
GREENFIT develops a comprehensive sustainability training curriculum built around two core themes: climate change adaptation and circular economy. Grounded in a thorough needs assessment across four partner countries, the curriculum integrates scientific research, industry input, and practical tools to equip learners with the skills required by today's green economy.
A dedicated Train-the-Trainers programme turns selected researchers, educators, and industry professionals into certified sustainability experts. These first-tier experts then cascade their knowledge to employees in manufacturing companies, creating a self-reinforcing network of green expertise across Türkiye, Italy, Poland, and Sweden.
GREENFIT builds a multilingual, freely accessible e-learning platform hosting the full training programme in four languages. Enhanced with gamification features and real-world industrial case studies, the platform ensures that sustainability knowledge reaches learners beyond the project's duration and geographic scope.
Trained sustainability experts lead hands-on pilot sessions with employees from at least 10 manufacturing companies per partner country — reaching a minimum of 100 professionals across the consortium. This transnational testing phase validates the curriculum in real industrial contexts and drives measurable behavioral change towards sustainable practices.
GreenFit adopts a transnational co-design approach, involving
actively industrial stakeholders, trainers and workers in the
materials design.
All materials are designed in collaboration between the partners, ensuring cultural and regulatory relevance in each country involved.
Development–test–review cycles ensure that each output is improved based on real end-user feedback.
